Study Programme for a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Our Bachelor programme in Computer Science offers an exciting specialisation towards visualisation, that is, computer graphics and management of complex information by means of visual tools.
Programme description
There is a growing demand for computer graphics based IT systems to support people in decision making, communication and interaction. The profile in Visualisation will provide you with the theory and skills needed to develop IT systems for analysis, interpretation and visualisation of complex information.
The study programme will in the first instance provide you with a foundation in general subjects of Computer Science. These subjects are successively complemented with special courses in Mathematics, Computer Graphics,
Visualisation and Expert Systems. In its final year, the study programme focuses on skills in developing and using information technology to analyse, interpret and to visualise information.
PROFILE
In the programme you will learn the foundations of Discrete Mathematics and knowledge of various mathematical tools needed for Computer Graphics and Image Analysis. On your own preference, you may specialise even further in Mathematics, taking courses in Linear Algebra, Single Variable Analysis and Mathematical Statistics.
After the studies
The Bachelor Programme in Computer Science with the Visualisation profile will provide you with general competence in Computer Science along with deepened knowledge of graphics programming.
After your studies you will be attractive for the general IT labour market. In addition, with your special competence in visualisation and data analysis you will be specifically qualified for employment with companies in new emerging markets such as computer games, visual simulations and (geo)graphical analysis tools.
Examples are companies developing IT systems for real estate project planning, for surveillance and maintenance, for financial analysis as well as for medical diagnosis. You can also take further studies at master level at another university.
